The Ringwood Woodcarvers Constitution

We are an informal group of like-minded individuals, who meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month at St Ives village hall near Ringwood.

We are a non-profit making group who meet, primarily, to work on our chosen projects and to help each other and those just beginning with the art of carving wood. We do not have a trained tutor but have many gifted members who give freely of their time when asked. Initially you will be able to borrow some tools and we have some wood available but everyone is encouraged to gradually supply their own equipment and timber.

Everybody pays a weekly contribution (currently £3.00) towards the hire of the hall and this also includes tea/coffee and biscuits. As a group we need to have insurance, especially if we are demonstrating or exhibiting at a show, where a member of the public could be injured. We are fortunate that we are able to share this cost with our colleagues in the Hants & Dorset Stickmakers and we ask our members for a yearly enrolment fee (currently £5-00) to help cover this cost.

We have never had a committee as the group has been run for a number of years by Pete Wheeler, who has now moved away leaving Mike Tuck as the focal point for the group.

Mike lives at St. Ives, Ringwood and can be contacted on 01425 475129
